The exam, explained

What is the
Australian RN OSCE?

The Objective Structured Clinical Examination is a practical assessment for internationally qualified registered nurses on the Stream B pathway. You work through timed clinical scenarios covering assessment, care delivery and evaluation.

It is taken in person in Australia. Our online practice helps you prepare your reasoning and communication before exam day.

Before you begin

Your questions,
answered.

How many stations are in the Australian RN OSCE?

There are 10 stations. Each has two minutes of reading time and eight minutes in the station. See our RN OSCE exam guide for the source and exam-day details.

How long is each OSCE station?

Each station takes 10 minutes: two minutes to read and eight minutes to perform. A ten-station practice mock uses 100 minutes of station time; follow your exam allocation for the full attendance schedule.

Where can I sit the RN OSCE?

The examination is held in person in Australia, at Adelaide Health Simulation in Adelaide or RANZCOG in Melbourne. Your allocation confirms your venue; it is not an online exam.

How much does the OSCE exam cost?

The RN OSCE examination fee is A$4,000 per sitting, paid through the IQNM dashboard. Our separate preparation passes cost A$149 for 30 days or A$249 for 90 days.

What happens if I do not pass?

You need to pay another examination fee and go through scheduling again. Review the station-level results, identify weak areas and combine focused rehearsal with supervised practical skills training.

Can I practise from overseas?

Yes. Online preparation can be used overseas. You still need to attend the examination in Australia and meet the visa and scheduling requirements described in our overseas guide.

How does this compare with an in-person course?

AI conversations help you rehearse reasoning, English explanations, documentation and timing. They cannot assess physical technique. Practise hands-on skills in person with suitable supervision.

Can I get a refund on a practice pass?

Request a full refund within seven days of payment if you have used no more than two AI stations and have not started a mock. Use Report a problem below to contact us; Australian Consumer Law rights are unaffected.
