OSCE risk assessment
station practice.
Explore a person’s specific risks and agree a practical prevention plan. Completing a form is one part of an assessment, not the whole task.

What to practise
Use invented histories to discuss falls, skin integrity or a change in mental wellbeing. Consider mobility, cognition, environment, support and what matters to the person.
This is a preparation category, not a prediction of a particular examination station. Read the candidate instructions and respond to the person and task you are given.
Make your approach clear
- Ask about previous events and the person’s usual ability before suggesting a plan.
- Link each identified risk to a specific preventive action.
- Explain when the plan needs review and who needs the handover.
Rehearsal prompt: “I will explain what I am checking, what I have found and what needs to happen next.” Adapt the words to the actual findings; do not memorise a claim you cannot support.
Common ways to lose the thread
- Using a risk label without an individual care plan.
- Assuming family can provide help without asking.
- Leaving new concerns unreported because a form is incomplete.

Reading cards are free. The designated trial station needs no account; new accounts receive two AI stations. A practice pass opens further AI sessions.
