Your scenario and task

You are the RN in a general practice clinic. Alex Rivera, aged 29, has asked to speak privately after a recent relationship breakdown. Assess immediate safety and arrange a supported clinical response. Complete the supplied practice record. You and the patient are in the room; the GP and a colleague can be called. You have eight minutes; describe and select physical actions in this online exercise.

What this type of station practises

Explore a person’s specific risks and agree a practical prevention plan. Completing a form is one part of an assessment, not the whole task.

In “Responding to disclosed suicidal intent”, use the task in the reading card to decide what to assess, explain and record in gp. Use invented histories to discuss falls, skin integrity or a change in mental wellbeing. Consider mobility, cognition, environment, support and what matters to the person.

These are general rehearsal aims, not the answers to this scenario. Respond to information obtained during practice rather than a memorised solution.

Say-and-do preparation

Prepare the sequence and language with a related checklist. Online rehearsal develops thinking and explanations; physical technique needs supervised in-person practice.
