Your scenario and task

Lorna Davies is receiving a community diabetes review. A handwritten glucose entry differs from the meter history. Verify the current reading, correct the record transparently and communicate a safe plan. No insulin correction order is supplied. The patient answers personal questions; the examiner supplies requested examination findings. RN Alex Morgan is available.

What this type of station practises

Create a useful clinical record that distinguishes observations, actions, communication and response. Your notes should help the next clinician continue care.

In “A glucose chart entry that does not match the meter”, use the task in the reading card to decide what to assess, explain and record in community. Practise completing a fictional observation record, a fluid balance entry or a progress note. Read existing entries first, use the supplied time and identifiers and make uncertainty visible.

These are general rehearsal aims, not the answers to this scenario. Respond to information obtained during practice rather than a memorised solution.

Say-and-do preparation

Prepare the sequence and language with a related checklist. Online rehearsal develops thinking and explanations; physical technique needs supervised in-person practice.
