Your scenario and task

Agnes Walker was found seated on the floor at 08:45. Initial assessment and a GP telephone plan are documented. Confirm current findings and hand over to RN Alex Morgan, including pending review and monitoring responsibility. The patient answers personal questions; the examiner supplies requested examination findings. RN Alex Morgan is available.

What this type of station practises

Make a clear clinical request using Introduction, Situation, Background, Assessment and Recommendation. The listener should understand both the concern and the action needed.

In “Residential handover after an unwitnessed fall”, use the task in the reading card to decide what to assess, explain and record in aged-care. Practise a telephone escalation, a shift handover or a transfer of care. Prepare a brief opening, relevant background, measured findings and an explicit request. Do not delay emergency assistance to finish a routine call.

These are general rehearsal aims, not the answers to this scenario. Respond to information obtained during practice rather than a memorised solution.

Say-and-do preparation

Prepare the sequence and language with a related checklist. Online rehearsal develops thinking and explanations; physical technique needs supervised in-person practice.
