Your scenario and task

Peter Moss is due a prescribed medicine on the rehabilitation ward. Review his chart, discuss the dose with him and complete the appropriate nursing care and record. Casey can assist and Dr Lee is reachable.

What this type of station practises

Show a safe approach to the prescription, the person and the medicine. Practise identifying missing information and explaining why you would pause rather than guess.

In “A medicine round in rehabilitation”, use the task in the reading card to decide what to assess, explain and record in ward. Rehearse reading a supplied medication record, discussing an allergy discrepancy or explaining an injection. Use only the fictional order provided; these guides do not supply a dose or authorise treatment.

These are general rehearsal aims, not the answers to this scenario. Respond to information obtained during practice rather than a memorised solution.

Say-and-do preparation

Prepare the sequence and language with a related checklist. Online rehearsal develops thinking and explanations; physical technique needs supervised in-person practice.
