Your scenario and task

Sunita Desai has noticed a blister on her right foot during a community diabetes nursing visit. Assess the foot, identify risks requiring review and document a care plan. Do not debride the blister. The patient answers personal questions; the examiner supplies requested examination findings. Dr Taylor Singh is reachable by phone.

What this type of station practises

Build an assessment around the presenting concern rather than reciting every assessment you know. Combine the person’s account, relevant examination and a clear next step.

In “A new blister on a foot with reduced sensation”, use the task in the reading card to decide what to assess, explain and record in community. Practise explaining a respiratory review, a focused neurological check or a limb assessment. Use the information supplied in the reading card; do not assume findings that were never given.

These are general rehearsal aims, not the answers to this scenario. Respond to information obtained during practice rather than a memorised solution.

Say-and-do preparation

Prepare the sequence and language with a related checklist. Online rehearsal develops thinking and explanations; physical technique needs supervised in-person practice.
