Your scenario and task
Kiran Adhikari is under ED observation after a bicycle fall with a head strike. His previous neurological record is available. Perform focused neurological assessment, complete the neurological record and communicate any concern. The patient is a manikin; address the patient and the examiner voices their answers and supplies findings. Dr Taylor Singh is reachable by phone. RN Alex Morgan is available.
What this type of station practises
Build an assessment around the presenting concern rather than reciting every assessment you know. Combine the person’s account, relevant examination and a clear next step.
In “Neurological assessment after a head strike”, use the task in the reading card to decide what to assess, explain and record in ed. Practise explaining a respiratory review, a focused neurological check or a limb assessment. Use the information supplied in the reading card; do not assume findings that were never given.
These are general rehearsal aims, not the answers to this scenario. Respond to information obtained during practice rather than a memorised solution.
Say-and-do preparation
Prepare the sequence and language with a related checklist. Online rehearsal develops thinking and explanations; physical technique needs supervised in-person practice.
